Tucson Fringe Application Is Upon Us

James Pack/ June 24, 2025

The performance application for the 2026 Tucson Fringe Festival opens on July 1st in just one week. This is always an exciting time as we begin preparations for the next festival but this year there are extra challenges waiting on the horizon. With the growing uncertainty of national and state-level arts grants and the increasing prices of venues, our registration fees and ticket prices are likely to increase. Our festival is still a small one and we do our best to prevent economic barriers, but that is becoming more and more difficult to maintain.

We are brainstorming some fundraising ideas and hope to have something planned and announced by the end of our application period in September. We will press on with our little festival as long as we can.

Shifting gears: we have a couple announcements. July 11th is World Fringe Day. It’s a fun day to celebrate all things fringe. Be sure to look up World Fringe on social media. Also, our friends at Capital Fringe have started a special fund for touring artists called the Ed Tyler Fringe Touring Fund. You can find more details by following This Link. Applications for the touring fund are scheduled to open October 1st.
